Job Description

Aerospace Quality Systems Engineer — Manufacturing & Test

Imagine starting your day on the production floor of R2S’s brand-new East Camden, AR site. You walk the line in our end-to-end, multi-cell integration and test environment for mission-critical defense systems, ensuring that every process step is controlled and every part meets exacting standards.

What a typical day looks like

  • Partner with manufacturing to publish control plans, control cards, visual aids, and detailed work instructions that keep production flowing smoothly.
  • Lead First Article Inspections (FAIs) and assemble complete PPAP packages that satisfy customer requirements the first time.
  • Dig into nonconformances, drive root-cause investigations (5 Whys, Fishbone, Pareto), and deploy CAPAs that prevent escapes and reduce Cost of Poor Quality.
  • Establish data-driven process control using capability studies, SPC, and Gage R&R—and translate the findings into practical improvements.
  • Advance our AS9100 Quality/Business Management System: help stand up and maintain procedures, instructions, and Quality Command media.
  • Build and present metrics for core processes; perform internal audits and interface with third-party auditors.
  • For program deliverables, compile and authorize Acceptance Data Packages (ADPs), review contracts for QA clauses and estimates, and represent Quality on cross-functional teams.
  • Act as the customer’s advocate when issues arise, summarizing data and communicating status with clarity and urgency.

  • Demonstrated impact using Lean or Six Sigma (DMAIC, SPC, Cpk, GR&R, DOE).
  • Familiarity with FAR/DFARS compliance and EVMS.
  • Cost estimation experience.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001.
