Job Title: Billing Specialist

Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing Specialist to manage and process billing activities with a strong focus on Medicaid compliance. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims, resolving billing discrepancies, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Medicaid regulations and payer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and submit claims to Medicaid and other third-party payers in accordance with established guidelines.
• Ensure billing practices comply with federal and state Medicaid regulations.
• Monitor claim status, follow up on unpaid claims, and resolve denials or rejections promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of billing activities and payment transactions.
• Collaborate with internal departments to verify service documentation and eligibility.
• Respond to inquiries related to billing, payments, and account status.
• Generate reports on billing performance, outstanding claims, and reimbursement trends.
• Stay current with changes in Medicaid policies and payer requirements.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or certification in medical billing/coding preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, with a strong emphasis on Medicaid billing.
• In-depth knowledge of Medicaid rules, billing codes, and reimbursement procedures.
• Proficiency in billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
