Full Time | Days

Pay Range of $18 - $25/hour (Based on Experience)

What You'll Do as a Maintenance Mechanic:

As a Maintenance Mechanic you will carry out our Mission of Love by performing a variety of electrical, mechanical, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, carpentry and general and preventative and grounds maintenance jobs including all facets of equipment and grounds maintenance.

Our Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the following:

  • Demonstrates general knowledge of electrical, mechanical, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, carpentry and general maintenance skills to perform general facility maintenance work.
  • Demonstrates the ability to be depended upon to use knowledge and skills to complete tasks and repairs properly and thoroughly with minimal direct supervision or assistance and to ask for assistance when required to safely and properly complete work.
  • Demonstrates the ability to assist department supervisor in maintaining accurate and clear records of all preventative, scheduled and emergency maintenance work.
  • Demonstrates the ability to be relied on to report to assigned work location as scheduled and on time, and to minimize unscheduled absences and report those absences as required.
  • Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, maintains and evaluates all residential, commercial and industrial plumbing fixtures, lines and systems and unclogs drain and sewer lines.
  • Maintains, troubleshoots, repairs and evaluates equipment and systems as assigned including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, mechanical and electrical equipment as well as plumbing systems. Assists in the installation and major repair of this equipment.
  • Maintains a knowledge of Masonic Villages water distribution and sewer lines and documents all changes and repairs.
  • Accept call duty as scheduled including meeting requirements for being available to accept switchboard calls and to respond to make repair or provide help as necessary.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on all equipment including testing and maintaining emergency generators.
  • Itemizes, estimates and prepares material requisitions for jobs accurately and in accordance with Masonic Village procedures.
  • Accesses, understands and utilizes the energy management computer system.
  • Maintains work areas in the field and in the shop in an orderly and clean manner, maintaining a safe work environment. Performs tasks in a safe manner. Ensures the proper care and use of tools, equipment and supplies.
  • Maintains professional growth and development by attending educational, technical and training programs, seminars and courses.
  • Maintains an accurate record of time for cost distribution and payroll. Completes computer generated work orders and provides clear documentation of work as required. Generates work orders for additional work or tasks identified in field and completes or submits paperwork as appropriate.

What You Need as a Maintenance Mechanic :

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Three or more years' working experience as a maintenance technician.
  • Vocational or technical school training in general maintenance is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of plumbing and electrical codes.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience, training or education.
  • Valid Pennsylvania's Driver's license.
