Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer (Azure + Terraform + GitHub)

Location: Remote LATAM

Role Split: 60% Engineering / 40 Operational Support

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with deep, hands-on expertise in Azure, Terraform, and GitHub to join our engineering team. In this role, you will split your time between building and improving infrastructure automation (60%) and providing operational support, troubleshooting, and maintenance (40%).

You will work closely with development and operations teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure while maintaining a strong focus on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD best practices using GitHub Actions and Terraform on Azure.

Key Responsibilities (60% Engineering)

• Design, build, and maintain Azure infrastructure using Terraform (IaC).
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• Automate deployment, scaling, and monitoring of cloud resources.
• Collaborate with developers to improve release velocity and system reliability.
• Implement security best practices (RBAC, Key Vault, NSGs, etc.) within Azure.
• Maintain modular, reusable Terraform code across multiple environments.
• Document infrastructure architecture and processes.

Key Responsibilities (40% Support)

• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues in production and non-production environments.
• Provide operational support during and after deployments.
• Respond to system alerts, performance degradation, and availability incidents.
• Participate in on-call rotation (if applicable) for critical systems.
• Assist development teams with environment configuration, access, and CI/CD failures.
• Perform routine maintenance, patching, and upgrades.

Experience & Qualifications

• 5 10 years of DevOps/Cloud Engineering experience (max 13 years).
• Proven experience with Azure (certifications like AZ-104, AZ-400 a plus).
• Strong Terraform expertise in production environments.
• Deep GitHub knowledge (Actions, workflows, branching strategies, CI/CD).
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline design and GitOps workflows.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills across cloud and application layers.
• Ability to work independently and within a remote LATAM-based team.
• English proficiency (spoken & written) for documentation and collaboration.

Nice to Have

• Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400).
• Experience with GitHub Advanced Security (code scanning, secret scanning).
• Knowledge of Helm, ArgoCD, or Flux for Kubernetes GitOps.
• Background in financial services or regulated industries.
• Experience with Azure Policy and management groups.
• Familiarity with service mesh (Istio, Linkerd) or observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
