Part-Time | Approximately 10–20 Hours per Week
Location: Tampa Bay Area, Florida
Compensation: $25.00–$30.00 per hour + mileage reimbursement

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Traveling Sedation Assistant to support IV sedation procedures and assist with general dental operations across multiple office locations. This is a dual-function role that combines sedation support responsibilities with traditional dental assisting duties as needed.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, clinically confident, and comfortable working in fast-paced environments while maintaining high standards of patient safety and documentation accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

Sedation & Clinical Support

• Assist providers during IV sedation procedures in accordance with state regulations and office protocols
• Prepare, verify, and document sedation medications and controlled substances accurately
• Maintain sedation logs, waste records, and related documentation
• Ensure proper storage, organization, and security of medications and emergency supplies
• Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies or concerns promptly
• Support compliance with sedation safety standards and emergency preparedness procedures
• Communicate sedation-related concerns or operational issues to leadership as appropriate

Dental Assisting Responsibilities

• Prepare operatories and assist during extraction procedures
• Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control standards
• Take and process digital radiographs
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative instructions to patients
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and clinical records
• Support front office operations when needed, including scheduling and patient check in/check-out
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked clinical environment
• Help ensure smooth patient flow throughout the day

Travel Expectations

• Travel between multiple office locations throughout the Tampa Bay area as scheduled
• Maintain flexibility to support sedation days and general clinical coverage needs
• Consistently uphold office standards and protocols across all locations
• Mileage reimbursement provided from designated home office location

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Dental Assistant certification in accordance with Florida requirements
• Previous IV sedation experience preferred
• Knowledge of controlled substance handling and documentation procedures
• Familiarity with OSHA, HIPAA, and dental board compliance standards
• Strong understanding of dental office workflows and clinical operations
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel regularly between offices
• Experience supporting multi-location practices preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities

Office Coverage Areas

Travel may include locations in Brandon, Clearwater, Port Richey, Tampa, Lutz, Zephyrhills, Spring Hill, and Pinellas Park.
