About the Role Our client, a leading national retail organization, is seeking a highly creative and strategic Social Media Content Creator to support brand, reputational, and business objectives through engaging digital content. This role blends concepting and hands-on execution, producing both video and static content across platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of social trends, platform best practices, and brand storytelling to deliver culturally relevant and emotionally engaging content.
This opportunity is project-based, and weekly hours may vary depending on workload and content volume.
Job Description The Social Media Content Creator will partner closely with cross-functional creative teams to translate brand priorities into compelling social-first content. This individual will take ownership of ideation through execution while ensuring alignment with overarching brand strategy and voice.
- Develop and evolve social media strategies aligned to brand and audience goals
- Translate creative briefs, brand narratives, and cultural trends into platform-specific content ideas
- Identify emerging trends, formats, and opportunities to enhance engagement and relevance
- Concept, create, and edit original content including short-form video, photography, captions, and stories
- Capture original content through video and/or photography as needed
- Write engaging, on-brand copy tailored to each platform’s audience and tone
- Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines while remaining authentic and platform-native
- Collaborate with internal creative teams including video and design leads
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Leverage performance insights and data to optimize content strategy and execution
Qualifications Required Qualifications - Minimum of 4 years of experience in social media content creation and strategy
- Proven ability to develop and execute end-to-end social strategies (not limited to posting content)
- Strong writing skills with a keen understanding of tone, voice, and audience segmentation
- Experience creating content for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, X, or emerging channels
- Proficiency with content creation and editing tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or native platform tools)
- Deep understanding of social media trends, platform culture, and creator-driven storytelling
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to translate insights into actionable improvements
- Portfolio demonstrating relevant social media content (must be included with application/profile)
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with paid social media campaigns or content boosting
- Background in motion design or advanced video editing
- Experience in brand storytelling, creative direction, video production, or design
